This is a very interesting video about LA County California in how its public health manager is handling the H1N1 vaccinations. He is doing a fine job. Click here to view the video. Btw, the part about some women lying about being pregnant to get the vaccine is most interesting and somewhat troubling for if more people did such the plan that is successfully working at the moment would most likely collapse.

The Age of Reason is more important now than in the past.

Reasonable precautions are in effect.

I love how high tech (check out the thermal camera image displayed on the screen) play a huge role in tracking the spread of the flu. I wonder how effective we would be without such tech. Any thoughts?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe this really isn't a personal feeling but rather the commander is reading the writing on the wall that the majority of us has suspected for quite some time now. More specifically,

Brigadier Mark Carleton-Smith is quoted as saying in an interview that if the Taliban were willing to talk, then that might be "precisely the sort of progress" needed to end the insurgency.

"We're not going to win this war. It's about reducing it to a manageable level of insurgency that's not a strategic threat and can be managed by the Afghan army," he said.

Even more interestingly,

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said last week he had asked the king of Saudi Arabia to mediate in talks with the insurgents and called on Taliban leader Mullah Omar to return to his homeland and to make peace.

My question is why didn't Karzai and the coalition forces reach out much sooner? Does it really take them that long to figure out what the overwhelming world opinion has wanted for a long time now?

Worse yet, left leaning French politicians feel “a sense of Vindication since they believe it is pay back time in the US for the decades of what they have always viewed as runaway Capitalism.

And you know what fellow Voxers I believe that the world reaction is entirely correct. And just think, the situation can get worse.

It is not often that I take the side of the GOP (source) but I also denounce this housing legislation as a bailout for irresponsible homeowners and unscrupulous lenders. However, through deregulation and “let the market be” approach that many conservatives hold dear to their hearts didn't help the present situation much. That said, I have a chance to hop upon my soap box and proclaim once again that: your one stop shopping religion “Deism” teaches self-reliance and encourages people to constantly use their reason for an iota of prudent thought could have prevented this mess in the first place.

Lastly, Deism teaches to "question authority" no matter what the cost. And asking the probing questions and weighing them against facts not fiction would save the tax payer much more in the long run than a bail out from the Government in the short run.
