Ed McMahon and his wife, Pam, talk to CNN's Larry King about their mortgage problems.

Mr. McMahon even goes as far to say “There's a lot of people that are hard workers, did everything right, didn't do anything wrong, and all of a sudden, they're in this boat. And I speak for all of them, as far as I'm concerned”.
My question to Voxland is: are you one of those that has always pulled yourself up by your bootstraps (neo conservative frame of thought) and worked hard all your life to arrive at a point of homelessness?
My point is maybe a socialist safety net is really not a bad idea after all for the outlook of living inside your car or under a bridge is not acceptable for anyone---hard working or not. A minimum level of living must become part of our daily bread that every human has a right too. That said, Obama and Clinton are you listening?

Xochitl Parra holds newborn Alejandro, as her sister, left, a nurse and Parra's mother pose with her Saturday.
· Story Highlights from source: CNN
· 8-pound, 3-ounce boy healthy, "eating like a champ," doctor says
· Xochitl Parra was getting ready for school when the contractions began
· "I felt his head coming, so I sit down and pushed so he could come out," Parra says
· Teen says pregnancy kept secret because she feared being kicked out of her home
What is amazing is that the mother said “" I started walking and jogging to the hospital."
Simply remarkable and sad at the same time for she feared being kicked out of her home. I wonder who would really have taken her in (besides the State) if she was indeed “kicked out” for as we already know, talk is often very cheap and compassionate actions are very few and far between. Any takers?
I found this article very interesting and want to share with fellow Voxers in the hope of generating some opinions. And yes, I do feel that the People’s Party is somewhat correct in their controversial stance because more social controls are necessary in a 21st Century environment. In particular, I agree wholeheartedly with the following excerpts:
"We believe that parents are responsible for bringing up their children. If they can't do it properly, they will have to bear the consequences," Ueli Maurer, president of the People's Party, told The Associated Press.
"As soon as the first 10 families and their children have been expelled from the country, then things will get better at a stroke," said Maurer, whose party controls the Justice Ministry and shares power in an unwieldy coalition that includes all major parties.
Any thoughts or comments?
